Asia Music Festival will Kick Off for 2nd

-->

First it was the award winning Rainforest World Music Festival with Sarawak’s traditional Sape’, the boat-shaped lute that has become the symbol of the festival, then it was the Borneo Jazz, bringing jazz from around the world to Sarawak. Now it’s the Asia Music Festival with its repertoire of music from across Asia.

Asia Music Festival now in its second year will be held in Miri, this 3 to 4 October 2014. This festival promises the most electrifying eclectic mix of live music on stage comprising bands only from the Asian region. It will take place at the Eastwood Valley Golf & Country Club, an enchanting location, with lush greeneries and the forest looming on the horizon. Right out of this tropical jungle is carved a golf course. As you close your eyes and take a deep breath, the stress of life will be overtaken by the soft singing of the cricket and the smell of fresh air of the countryside.

With its objective of attracting the Asian expatriate community working in neighbouring Brunei, the local Bruneians themselves, our neighbours from Sabah and Peninsular Malaysia as well as those in Indonesia, Singapore and the region, the atmosphere is planned to be that of a carnival as apart from the night shows, there will also be fringe events starting in the early evening. There will be tattoo enthusiasts, handicraft, food from every corner of Asia and many more!

Based on the success of the inaugural Asia Music Festival, this year there are plans to bring bands from China, India among others, featuring a mix of music genre which we are sure will appeal to festival goers.

Tickets at presale prices of RM25 for adults and RM10 for children and students aged 3 to 18 years are now available from all Visitors’ Information Centres in Kuching, Sibu and Miri as well as online. Tickets will also be available at the entrance of the venue but this will be priced at RM30 for adults and RM15 for children and students aged 3 to 18 years respectively.
